Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
The short version
- We do not collect health data. There are no reader accounts and no symptom trackers.
- Your quiz answers stay in your browser. They are never sent to us or to any analytics service.
- We use analytics to count page views and clicks, and we log clicks on product links without storing your IP address in that log.
- We do not sell personal data.
1. Who we are
rx-sexualhealth operates rx-sexualhealth.com, an evidence-based guide to sexual health that earns commissions from some links. Contact: hello@rx-sexualhealth.com.
2. The quiz
The quiz runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are scored on your device and are not sent to our servers or to any third party. When you finish, the result (a topic, such as “STI testing”) is saved in your browser's local storage so the site can stop showing you the quiz prompt. It is never transmitted on its own, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Our analytics record that a quiz was completed, with no answers and no result attached. Pages you open afterwards, including the guide the quiz suggests, are counted like any other page view (see below).
3. Analytics
PostHog
We use PostHog to understand which pages are useful. It records page views (the page address), how far you scroll in an article, and clicks on our own navigation prompts. Automatic click capture and session recording are turned off. PostHog sets a cookie or local-storage identifier to tell visits apart.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 for aggregate traffic reporting. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and receives the page address, referrer and standard browser information.
Product link clicks
When you click a product or partner link, it passes through our own redirect, which logs: the link clicked, the page you clicked it on, its position on the page, your device type and browser, and an approximate location (country, region and city) supplied by our hosting provider. To count unique visitors without storing who you are, we also store a one-way hash of your IP address and browser identifier, combined with a secret value that changes every day. Your IP address itself is not stored in the click log, and the daily change means visits on different days cannot be linked.
The redirect also uses a request counter keyed by IP address to limit abuse. It is stored separately from the click log and is not used for analytics.
After the redirect, the retailer or provider (for example Amazon) applies its own privacy policy.
4. Cookies and browser storage
- Quiz result (local storage, set by us): the result topic, kept only in your browser.
- Prompt dismissal (session storage, set by us): remembers that you closed the quiz prompt, until you close the tab.
- Analytics identifiers (set by PostHog and Google Analytics) as described above.
We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear all of these in your browser settings.
5. Third-party services
- PostHog (analytics): posthog.com/privacy
- Google Analytics (analytics): policies.google.com/privacy
- Amazon Associates (affiliate links): Amazon privacy notice
- Vercel (hosting) and Supabase (database for the click log).
6. Your choices and rights
You can block analytics with a browser setting or extension and the site will still work. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. We do not store names or email addresses, and IP addresses appear only in the abuse counter described above, so we usually hold little that identifies you. You can email hello@rx-sexualhealth.com with any request.
7. Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children.
8. Changes
We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes.
